The MTG Foundation supports the growth, development and preservation
of the collections held at MTG Hawke’s Bay, one of New Zealand’s foremost regional museums.

While MTG has an extensive and notable collection assembled over the past 150 years,
in order to fully tell the stories of our region it cannot remain static.

Council funding covers the care of the collection but does not include any budget for acquisitions, so the effort of our Foundation is necessary for the continuing purchase of new works and artefacts.   

We rely on our community - through events, fundraisers, donations and volunteering - to continue to grow our region’s taonga for generations to come.
